Effect of body posture on ICP, presented at the Umeå CSF symposium
The Arctic CSF dynamic and hydrocephalus symposium was graciously hosted by Jan Malm and Anders Eklund in Umeå, Sweden, from October 10th to 11th, 2013.
The symposium reviewed physiology and pathophysiology in CSF dynamics with a special focus on normal pressure hydrocephalus. It gathered participants from all the nordic countries as well as the UK.
We contributed to the symposium with our latest results on the effect of postural changes on ICP in healthy and ill subjects, and a presentation on how electrostatic discharges affect the validity of registered values in intracranial pressure monitors.
